What to expect
You Don't Have to Have It All Together to Begin
Here is what the process looks like — from your first contact through the completion of your sessions. Our goal is that you feel informed, comfortable, and prepared every step of the way.
Initial Contact
Begin by reaching out through the website, phone, or email. You may briefly describe what you are facing and what kind of help you are looking for. There is no pressure to have everything figured out — a general sense of your situation is enough to get started.
Introductory Consultation
A short consultation is used to learn more about your needs, explain the nature of biblical counseling or coaching, answer your questions, and determine together whether New Creation is an appropriate fit. This is a low-pressure conversation — not a commitment.
Intake and Consent Forms
Before regular sessions begin, you will complete intake, informed-consent, scheduling, payment, and privacy-related forms. These documents explain the biblical foundation of the services, confidentiality limits, fees, expectations, and the counselor's role — so there are no surprises.
First Session
The first session focuses on listening carefully, understanding your story, identifying current concerns, and clarifying what you hope to see change. No one is expected to have everything figured out before beginning. You simply show up — and we start there.
Counseling or Coaching Plan
Together, we identify key concerns, relevant biblical principles, desired outcomes, prayer needs, and practical next steps. This plan is not rigid — it is a living guide that reflects where you are and where God is leading you.
Ongoing Sessions
Sessions may include careful listening, Scripture discussion, prayer, reflection questions, goal review, practical assignments, accountability, and encouragement toward church involvement and supportive relationships. Each session builds on the last.
Progress Reviews
Goals and progress are reviewed regularly. Adjustments may be made as new issues become clear, circumstances change, or growth occurs. The process is collaborative — your input matters at every stage.
Completion and Continuing Growth
When formal counseling or coaching concludes, you receive a summary of progress, key Scriptures, next steps, prayer priorities, accountability recommendations, and guidance for continued growth. The goal is not dependence — it is equipping you to walk faithfully forward.
Important expectations
A Few Things Worth Knowing Before You Begin
Participation is voluntary
No one is required to be here. The most effective work happens when a person genuinely wants to engage and is willing to be honest about where they are.
Honest involvement matters
Growth requires honest engagement and follow-through between sessions. The work does not stop when the session ends — it continues in daily life.
No specific outcome is guaranteed
Lasting change is ultimately the work of the Holy Spirit. We can offer truth, guidance, prayer, and accountability — but transformation belongs to God.
Growth may be gradual
Real change rarely happens all at once. Progress may be slow, nonlinear, and sometimes hard to see in the moment. Faithfulness over time is the goal.
This is not an emergency service
Biblical counseling and life coaching are not substitutes for emergency mental health services, psychiatric care, or medical treatment. If you are in crisis, please contact 988 or your local emergency services.
Referrals may be recommended
When appropriate, referrals to medical, psychiatric, legal, or licensed mental-health professionals may be recommended. New Creation is committed to your whole wellbeing — not just the spiritual dimension.
The First Step Is Simply Beginning the Conversation
